Heard a lot of good things about the iPod, too bad it looks so unappealing ___________________ mWòÓh StranGe-DaZeStatus: Offline!
hmm I've had the same mp3 player for 2yrs, never had a problem with it, but I've been lookin to getting a new one lately and the iPod looks good, jus a shame Apple totally rip us Brits off compared to the prices in America. The 15GB iPod is £249, which works out about $460USD, can't buy one at US price of $299 (or £160, big difference eh?) cos they can't rip us off effectively that way. Unless the prices get evened out, think I'll be givin the iPod a miss. ___________________
Well, if the cost is an issue, I wonder about the legality of buying it through a friend in the US?
Unappealing? To you, maybe. That was practically flamebait, considering how many people here like them. But, to each their own. ___________________ the point is it's size. it's very small and very light, and although i am disapointed at the price (i think it should be $199) i think it's very nicely designed and a great concept. i do however think this will follow in the g4 cube's steps unless they reduce the price. Does anyone have access to sales reports? Maybe an SEC filing from Apple? I have to ask because I want to speculate but have no hard data to back me up. I'm thinking that the iPod has already well-outsold the G4 cube (which I also liked very much). They have a strong holding in the market. While I agree that the price of the mini is steep, especially in relation to its older brother, I don't believe the iPod is in any danger of becoming undersold and obselete on anywhere NEAR the level of the G4 cube. However, I may have well misunderstood you. If you were talking specifically about the mini and not the whole family, you could very well be right. Apple needs to reconsider the cost relationship among its own products (comparing a 4GB machine with a 256MB Rio like Steve Jobs did on Tuesday simply because they're in similar cost brackets is not realistic). If this is what you meant, I feel you made a very good point, E.F. ___________________ hey now, i love the g4 cube, but it was overpriced for the performance it had. and yes, i was referring to the mini. what i WOULD pay for is a g5 cube...ded seksi. its really not all that much smaller than the normal ipod. i dont like the design. the colors suck exept silver is ok. and it hold a lot less than the normal i pod and is still really expensive. Personally i think its a waste of money. |
