it looks like it took you 20 min. to do.
it needs to be centered IMO.
it looks bad in just a white bkg.
Get rid of the splash.

well, the first thing that I noticed is the wood frame, and it looks fake, maybe try using like the google image search and find a real frame photo and use that, because the fake frame looks bad. the splash loaded pretty slow too, and I have DSL so if I was on a 56k it would load way too slow. and you need to think of a way to blend the edges of the content area better cause it goes straight onto the white background and it doesn't looks so good. and also, I know that flowers are hard to get into a small image file but the gif files dont' look very good. Overall it just needs a little more tweaking and it'll be pretty awesome. overall though, the design is pretty professional. Just keep working on it!

It looks shoddy.
It was also made in a stupid way too. Never use image ready to make a full site because it will turn out like that.
The navigation is hard to read and doesnt look all that nice either. The best thing about this site is the news section, it reads well and looks alright too.
Also make a proper background that actually flows with the site instead of making the site to suit one resolution only by making the site fit it without any resizing code or whatever.

A few things I am gonna do when I actually find time. I am gonna of course do a larger BG, but I need the time. The links I was also gonna fix up a bit, make them a bit more readable. I didn't use Imageready, I don't know where you got that from.
I will definitely take into consideration the image quality and the same goes for the frame. I think the frames problem is that it gets "flat" by which I mean the top looks more real than the bottom. I am gonna work on it and make it a bit more realistic, if I can't get the desired look, than I might do what you [Nforgacs] said about the frame.
Thank's for the constructive criticism.

Oh god no not a larger bg. Not everyone uses cable  I think the layout just looks...tacky. Take some time, plan it out think about what you need, where you're going to place links, photos, whatever. Consider what colors you want and what message you're trying to give to visitors. Right now the message I see is "I can take a photo and but a border on it then cut it up in photoshop." Not trying to be rude here sorry but its really amateur looking, which is ok because everyone has to start somewhere. Learn html, and fix that photoshop-created script. Having <!-- ImageReady Slices (main.psd) --> just looks really sad.

What happened with the text in the "other" link? Looks like it was an afterthought and you didn't bother anti-aliasing it. Yuck. Same with "Comment." Might want to fix those...the color wasn't even quite the same by the looks of it.
That doesn't seem consistent. It's a decent effort though, if this is your first.

It looks nice, visually. However, since your site relies heavily on iframes and graphics, you should consider a few things:
[*]Users in which don't have browsers that support iframes will not be able to access your content. Therefore, you should use some kind of alternate method. This could either be dynamically including the navigation on each page using a server-side language if available, or, if you have to, make the navigation static if you know it's going to remain like that.[*]Define an alt attribute on all navigation items since your site will become unusable to people in which do not use graphical browsers.
