Blocky abstract city deep zoomy things. Yes.
Hi all,
How would i go about making those blocky abstract images like these:
http://www.2advanced.com/exploratory/image/2a_Concordance.jpg
http://www.2advanced.com/exploratory/image/2A_Conduit.jpg
Obviously I'd need to Photoshop them, but is there a good way of getting the basic renders to work from, say in 3DS Max?
Thanks in advance

Waynhim, Welcome to TF as you can see some people like to play...
Try out http://www.shiver7.com/tutorials/116/ It gives you a file for it, but I believe the blocky part is in Cinema 4D format, but I'm sure the same techniques would apply to 3ds...

This part of 3d isn't explained in the s7 tutorial. There just
some lighting techniques included....
Take C4d and genereate a few blocks/cubes. Put a camera
in it and render, voilą

How would you make that image used in the tutorial?

I use Photoshop 6.0 and Bryce 5.0
Status: Offline!
Yes, www.shiver7.com offers great abstract tutorials.
Just create some blocks resembling architecture. Angle your camera to capture a view like the one shown. Throw in some lights for a more 3d-ish feel.
Remember, vector art is pretty important in images like that. So, be sure to throw in some vector too.
[OFFTOPIC:b63a30b7c1] My friend designed the interface for www.2advanced.com... Just thought it was a coincedence. [/OFFTOPIC:b63a30b7c1]

Its not actually blocks created in c4D, its just a material applied to planes with a blocky/tech pattern applied to it..

I'm a total noob to C4D so if anyone would be so kind enough to do a short tutorial on how to make an image like that I'd be very very greatful.
