Come on, tell me what you think.
Hi all,
I have just updated one of my sites and would greatly appreciate ANY comments.
I'm a bit concern on how people will take to my top navigation. I was going to use a dropdown list but decided against that and search dynamicdrive for the one I got.
I'm not sure about the link colours. So any help there would be great.
Also how does it look in the larger resolution. I have 800 x 600.
Come on, give it to me. I can take anything you throw at me.
The address is:

Thanks
gibger
P.S. Will be adding more photos to the photos page soon.

Its a nice start, but if you really want to get into webdesign you really have to find yourself a copy of photoshop. I suggest u remove the background image and replace it with a small pattern or something. Then align everything and get a header. Make all the sections of the site link together. and try to get away from throwing in GIFs. Good luck with your webdesign!

Yea, it's kinda too bland. You need a new layout that is more unique and that will catch ppl's attention.

I totally agree with cyber reaper on the background image. The navigation menu, well I dont like it, you should just list them or something. I also agree with bardock in the fact that it is kinda bland. Also in your main page its just a lot of text with nothing dividing it our naming sections like something bold saying Family as a header for the section of things about family. Thats just an example but I think you get what im saying.

3. What do you mean by get a header??
4. I thought GIF's were ok for webdesign.
5. All pages are linked together except the guestbook which has a link to my home page.

Do you know of a good photoshop book that will teach me all I need to know about photoshop.

Adobe's "Classroom in a book" series of boks is good if you're really new to the program. It will go through and teach you what all of the tools do and where things are. It'll only cover the basics, though, so if you have some photoshop knowledge, it probably won't help much. The Photoshop Wow! books have been good in the past, though I haven't seen the ones for 7/CS so I can't really comment on them. PHotoshop Bible is good.
Check some places like good-tutorials.com or the sticky at the top of the forum for tutorials that will not only teach you how to achieve some specific effects, but more importantly will get you working with and using the tools in creative ways and you can learn what they do and how they work together that way.
