Backgrounds vs Main Image
I'm new so if this thread doesn't seem to fit here forgive me.
I had stepped away from creating wallpapers for a while so I could concentrate on making my website and helping another message board with its new design.
When creating wallpapers do you design around the background or the main image?
For this wallpaper I designed around the background...

And this one I design around the main image...

Opinions please...

I'd say it depends on what you want the person to focus on in the image. If you want a background that is direct, focusing on/parading/presenting a certain thing, then design around the main image.
If you want to create a subtle wallpaper that might not have a focal point, but good all around ambience, then designing around a background image works.
Now, you could start designing a subtle wallpaper and still end up with a focal point -- it all depends on how you present the wallpaper and the artistic techniques you use.

Matt: technically you asked nothing about PS, thus your post was moved.... if you had mentioned/asked something about PS, your thread would have been fine in the PS forum!
Please read the forum descriptions before you post, makes it easier for everyone.
Your welcome ....
