Photoshop Book/Tutorial

Ive just got photoshop 7 and suck at graphic design but im very into web design and this is important to me so can anyone tell me what the best resource would be to learn everything from the basics to intermediate(maybe more if I can handle it). Books whatever im just wondering what you would recommend as the best(and cheap counts too free is great).

Try http://www.good-tutorials.com , it links 1730 tutorials in categories. They feature 5 new tutorials each day. I have learnt a lot from using the site.

Browse here. Once you get the general idea of the tools just have a look around here, you are bound to learn stuff you can't from a tutorial.

If you have a local library borrow a book on photoshop, I found this the quickest way to work out what tools were for what.

Personally I have found that the best way to learn something like photoshop is to have a project that you wish to do and then attempt it, all the while rading tutorials and asking questions on forums. But first try to do it before asking questions. Asking how to do something from scratch is not a question that you can really learn from. Asking about specific steps that you cant figure out is.

i've really found that books aren't that good, and definitally not better than what you find on the web. start simple and work up. i know it's frusterating cause you want to open a book and turn into a ps guru but it takes time and tedium.
