Grow up, learn english, and accept phonetic changes. By the way? What happened to your coffe? Please go back to it, because you have gone from a solid, listening person to one who will rebel against proper english phonetics and a documented pronunciation guide.

i allways pronounced it like Gif, but now will pronounce it like Jiff, since ehm well yeah look at the documentation. And I don't care how it's spelled I mean, look at words from other countries, i'm dutch and if i see the word : WORD i will not pronounce it like an english person, since i have a different pronounciation then him at the letter O. so ehm yeah JIFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but ehm i do pronounce Jiv and not Jif :P

i think he was arguing with me because he thinks i pronounce it GIFt but i pronounce it G - I - F one letter at a time, anything else just sounds dumb in my opinion.

Eh, if there is a vowel in there, u can usually pronounce it so it sounds like something, so i that's why I do it.

dumb or not self suff gif is still wrong. It isn't arguable, it isn't changable. gif is plain old wrong.

And you have yet to explain why it is dumb, seeing as how your own english language has a ton of g starting words that use the j sound
