I don't think anyone said erasing is better than a mask, but to answer your question it can be better if the only thing you'll be doing is removing a part of an image (permanently) then it could be faster switching to the eraser tool than a mask - other than that, it's generally a good idea to work with masks etc. ___________________ Nick masking/erasing is the same thing tho.... cept masking is reversible? ___________________
not sure if it was part of the original images or not, but it looks like he blurred some parts as well to make it blend easier ___________________

Erasing is not more precise than a mask and vice versa. Masks are not permanent, whereas erasing is - once you close the document you don't have a history state. ___________________ Nick |
