How is it possible to change the background of a picture with another picture for the background?

have your original picture on one layer and your new background picture underneath it - you can then use the eraser tool, layer masks, etc. to get rid of the old background so that the new background shows through. I'd suggest reading up on some photoshop basic tutorials.
