I could night see the text or the X Network graphic without turning the brightness on my monitor all the way up. Even then, the text was still too dark. The links are not in an obvious place, I was looking at the grey bar for them.

I agree is Aequo..the links are in an odd place. Although sometimes it is nice to be different, if the user has problems locating things they tend to move on rather quickly.

Maybe move the content up and to the right where "in the works" and "mood" are?

Yeah, I was about to leave, and then at the last second I noticed where the links were...

I agree, the links arent that easy to pick up. Try adding some more variety, everything looks the same. Try moving the links to a more noticable spot.
