NET/GRID Material ! !

hello

i want to make a net in my 3dsmax5 scene, i created a plane and now i want to add a material where there are very tiny blocks where the light can pass trough, well, basicly, a freekin' net material. I tried to make one in photoshop, created to perpedicular lines and set the bg transparent and then saved as a transparent *.png file and in 3dsmax in material editor added a Diffuse color the *.png file bitmap. but it streches the image and it's not transparent. odd.

ty,
Tiago Cabaco.

Your not going to be able to make a good net using plane...I suggest using splines and the loft tool...find somet tutorials on lofting.

Make a plain old black and white grid in photoshop. Make the lines white and the blocks black.

Now, make a texture and put that image as the transparency.
Then, on your object, add a uvw map and increase the tiling until the grid si the right size.
