Public Nomination for TC Staff Departments & Positions

Well ladies and gentlemen, as some of you know, officially this Spring, TF will make the move to forums.tutorialcentral.com, TF.com will still be a redirect to the forums, however we are going to centralize it all over.

Because of the massive change to the community, we're going to start rounding up potential staff members so we can adequately cover all areas of TC. Other things that will more than likely change is speed, I'm sure a lot of you have noticed a wish wash change in speed, somedays it's fast, other days it seems to be lagging, this had to do with some DNS entries that have been corrected, also there is still the CGI problem, but my developers and I are working on correcting this, just bare with me.

Anywho, we will list all positions that are available, requirements(some age even applies to some of it, but not all positions). Also, I am going to say right now, anyone with even 1 warning point, is disqualified. If you've ever been reprimanded for behavior, you will not be considered. This includes anyone we've readmitted to the community, if you've been readmitted, you will not be able to be considered until Oct. 17th 2004, which is the date I readmitted a lot of you.

Moving on, there will be some changes going on, for one, there will no longer be a single group for moderators. The name moderator will now be 'Mentor', and Super Mods will be known as Advisors. Also, there will be teams instead of the clashed together setup we have now. Some will be global in all of TC, some will just be around the forum, or in their designated area. Advisors are the leader(s) of a team, and mentors answer to those Advisors. Advisors have also been given special permissions to certain features in their own CP to deal with usergroups we allow them to, including those in their own usergroup, allowing them to manage their own staff.

Another change, Administrators will now be known as Directors, you will also see inactive admins not in there, however they will 'still' have administrator capabilities, this is to solve confusion around here, who wants to contact a director that doesn't even check their PMs? They may just be around to do maintenance work, or do behind the scenes work, we don't want to expose them right? Currently, the only directors are myself, Dave, Rob, and Brian(I think), I will have to talk to Brian, he's not the most active director.

CoAdmins will be known as Managers from now on. This is also to help a major role of Directors. For one, there will only be 3 non-area managers. These are Darthy, who is our staff and member relations manager, she deals will staff inactivity, problems, as well as any member concerns that involve a staff member. Fred is also another one, he is the TC development advisor. No new skins, hacks, etc. will be allowed to be used unless he verifies them to XHTML compliant, he will also be converting current skins to XHTML compliant, as well as current hacks we are using and any future hacks we may use. He will also be verifying all the new areas, like the gallery, tutorials, etc. to be compliant, without his approval, it doesn't go up. He will have his own team which we are unaware of, so that position will be there also for him to consider. Those who are on Fred's team are not given mod abilities other than being able to chat with staff in the staff forum and access to our channel on IRC. At this time, we have not selected a manager for IRC, we are going to need someone who we can trust with IRCOP, as well as being mature enough to deal with issues, and increase areas of the IRC so popularity will be more fluent. They will also be incharge of the TC account at Veonex, our provider for IRC, and incharge of irc.tutorialcentral.com or chat.tutorialcentral.com, we haven't decided. He will be incharge of maintaining it, and setting up interactive features for members for the channel #central. This will also be included in the available positions list.

New managers will also be the developer(s) of the new areas. For instance, the Gallery, EvilGenius will be promoted to Manager status, and he will be incharge of all staff for the Gallery, meaning anyone who makes his consideration list, he's the one you'll want to talk to if you want to be a mod, smod or whatever other usergroup he determines for the Gallery. Ares will also be moved to Manager upon completion of his Yearbook system. There will be many new managers, all to allow us to know who does what, who's incharge of who, etc. -- Non-staff will not be considered for Manager position except for the IRC deal.

Advisors are not open, those are promoted interally, there is no jump to. However, those qualified may be pushed to Advisor or Smod since they will be new areas.

Anyways, lets get on to what all of you want, available positions and their requirements. Please remember, that you may post your own resume, and we encourage you to, please see next post of mine for the expected submission style.

Why I would be a good addition to staff?
I consider myself to be respectible and responsible, with a humorous side. I know, and (as far as I can tell) get along with everyone here at TF, including the current staff. I have been a member for well over a year, and have remained relatively active the entire time. I have good people skils, am able to get my point across when needed and have been told many times that I am very diplomatic. I wrote for the school news paper during my senior year of high school, so I also have a bit of journalistic experience. I have been using Photoshop and Dreamweaver for several years now and consider to know a fair deal about the programs.
