First of all, Rancid sold out. And having patches with saftey pins doesn't make you punk...all my patches are sewn on.

Then please tell me where these true 'punx' (the 'x' is hXc, by the way) are, as all the 'punx' I know do basically exactly as I said. You know...do that and you're punk. What, that's NOT how stuff works?

omg i can't believe this was even started. You cannot classify music as emo.. come on lets try, whats an emo band? did you say dashboard confessional? dead poetic? or the number twelve looks like you? - the bands are as far apart from eachother than any triplet yet they all get called emo from different people.

if anything 'emo' is a style of dress. i'm sorry if you don't like that. But you CAN say, hey that chick looks 'emo' or hey that dude is emo. You cannot always asy that to 'punks' Becuase really to be a punk is to rebel

and since punk is popular you have to rebel against being punk. So really what are you if you call yourself punk?

hah thus you can't call yourself 'punk' you could adapt a cliche of the look, or listen to that **** you call punk what do you wear atticus? ... rediculous.

EDIT: and also the technical classification to "EMO" is very obviouse. EMOTIONAL. someone said its all about girls and ****. If the artist wants to portray emotion through a relationship. Or just capture the mood of what he was feeling. It could also be the mood you feel in the midst of war. Or capturing the chaos of it all. (#12 does that well i think, lol) and punk is to rebel against the popular. but its popular to be punked, so you punks are f'd.

well i myself don't call myself emo or really label bands, its more of a conjoined thing, like, coheed and cambria.. are they popular someone asks? and the best answer i can think of is.. well in the underground emo world they are HUGE. but above that hardly anyone knows about them? not directly calling them emo or 'kids' emo, but more or less just a place people look for 'good' music, and care about how they dress' like wearing tighter pants cuase you think you look good in them.
