what is the best metal effect and such for like a robot mechanical thing like a drone. for the legs of the drone its got to be a strong industrial looking metal anyone got any tutorials to one soemthing like http://flashlevel.com the metal there would do fineaccept its a bit too smooth i dont like the brushed metal look i dont think it will work out.

good link Caged! came up with this using that method of dodge/burn.... simple selections, reflected gradient grays as base colour and then dodged/burned...

that will be soemthing useful and the syrogennthing is made for pipes not the legs of a mechanical robot

you can't ask for something as specific abstractly like "the legs of a mechanical robot"

experiment yourself. Tutorials won't do everything for you.

actually, as Incarnate points out, the tut is showing you a technique, so you need to learn and then apply the technique to your liking.

You asked about a metal texture thats not as clean as brushed and thats what we have showed you.

If your asking how to make a robots legs, then thats really all down to you as the designer to 'design' them, and then apply a metallic texture.
