changing image resolution without changing image size

whenever i try to change the image resolution the image size of the picture goes down if i have resample image uncheck then when i do check it it makes the image bigger when i set a bigger res. can u help me

You have to start an image in the max resolution you want. You can go down from 300, but going up from 72 doesn't work.

There is a plug-in for Photoshop called "Genuine Fractals" that will allow you to chage the resolution without any loss.

thnx vogon poet it kinda helped. waht if i made the res higher then that would make the image bigger then i went to help resises image and made it smaller
and also were can i get hat plugin or any toher plug ints

if its vector you can allways just rezise it to huge then cahnge it then small it, i dunno.. dont listen to me im an idiot.
