Objects>Distribute>Space Evenly Horz... grrr

I'm making a simple horizontal menu and I'm having trouble getting the bloody text spaced evenly.

It's a four link menu, therefore having four text boxes. When I select all four text boxes and go to Objects>Distribute>Space Evenly Horz., it only spaces the last 3 text boxes evenly and it leaves the first one alone... what's wrong?

From what I have so far I'm just going to have to make a guess.

P.S. I'm using PSP 7.0.

are they all on the same layer? - just something you may have overlooked

Yes they are all in the same layer... I ended up just making a guess and I think it came out alright.
