Im relatively new to graphics design, and would like some feedback, on a button i made for this site:

It doesn't really make me want to click it.

The colours don't really work together, and the fonts are a bit... random.

I think a good term to use on this button would 'busy. Its too busy. The background takes up more of my attention then the text does.

Try adding a outline around your text to make it stand out a bit more. Choose a thicker font for the 'forums' as well.

I'll have to agree, the colors just aren't working for me either. The website isn't working for me so I can't really suggest what would be better for you. Just try toning it down it down.

Since this is, more or less, a mini-advertisement you want to make sure your text is readable and appealing.

ok, thanks, i changed the font, the colours, 'zoomed' in to the background a bit, and this is what i got,

That looks alot better, maybe now just add a 1 px border around it all.

change the black text to a color you can read better or stroke it with a color so you can read it better
