"One Nation Under God"

Now that I'm an athiest I have yet to say or even put my hand over my heart for the pledge. Some people don't do it mainly because "I'm to lazy" Or "I'm too cool for this". I do it because I think "Under God" Is against "Freedom of religion". The pledge to me is like being forced to believe in god.

I'm waiting for that one day that "One nation under God" is removed from the pledge.

What are your views on this?

lol no, I'm canadian. They make us sing the anthem, but no one actually sings.

I say kids shouldn't have to do it...

I don't think its pushing religion on you. It doesnt say waht god, simply, a higher power. Any form of higher governing power. I think it should stay. It shows this nation as pious. It would be like changing the money and stuff around too. No, I definitely don't think we should go down that road.

if the nation starts dividing itself over something as trivial as that, then we're gonna be in trouble as far as foreign affairs go. how can another country respect us if we get worked up over simple things like that?
