Thats the silliest thing I've ever heard. Floppies (if you're doing nice high quality photos like you should be) can hold maybe one or two photos depending on your resolution. Waste of time. Most cameras use a memory stick or built-in memory to store the pics, then you transfer them to your comp.

Unfortunately there is no standard right now really for portable storage since floppies are going out. Most manufacturers arent bothering to include them anymore in new systems, floppies have been around since the mid 80's.

Probably the handiest ones are "jumpdrives". Different stores have different names for them, but any computer with a USB jack can use it. IT's a little memory chip attached to a USB connector and you use it with a keychain, very handy.

I needed something quite big for school though, so I got the Iomega ION 80 gig mobile Hard drive they have, works nicely. Can connect it to any computer via USB, USB 2.0 or Firewire.

CD's are ok but unless you have a high speed burner they can be a pain ...

Those are pretty awesome. Those tend to be bulky and akward. I am curious how fast the 80 gig is since its USB.

I'll use CDs to take docments to school. However if I need to take something home like and updated word document or digital project I will upload it to my webhosting account.

It can be hard to use CDs withought a burner but if you do there a nice drag and drop function available with DirectCD.

Later.

Some mp3 player can hold more then just mp3's. I know of a few that you can back up your hard drive on. (20 gb mp3 player). Damn I want one.

I use floppies school and back, at home cd-rws + usb cards. I'm considering a mobile HD though, that might be a nice way to back stuff up.
