Thats irrelevent, if floppies could hold 700MB then I'd use them. But, unfortunately they can't. For storing word files I'll use them but anything larger Im forced to use CD's. Unless of course there are new super floppies that I ahven't heard of, in which case feel free to flame me.

Floppies tend to get damaged in my backpack. I used those mini-CD-RWs they hold 180megs. They last a lot longer then using floppies. Some of my friends use USB memory sticks. Those little gadgets holds anywhere from 128 to 256. If our school computer where outfitted with media card readers (those little cards also used in digital cameras) i'd use those they hold up to 2.2gig. 1"x1"x1/16"

I mostly use CD's. My dad sometimes uses his Palm to transfer pictures from my cmoputer to his work one though. But I have used floppy's to take a word files to school or something, but even then I mostly e-mail them to my school e-mail address.

What a dumb question! Why use floppies? They only hold 1.44 mb. You find me 700 MB Floppy and maybe i'll use them..

floppies are unreliable. they always crash and crap. and they have nooo space on them at all. you question was what do you prefer to store data on.

i say CDs. and harddrive space. and when transfering stuff, i usually upload it to my webspace or email it.

You could use a memory stick or a zip drive or some crap if you wanted removeable storage with a larger capacity than a floppy, but don't need 700MB

Iomega attempted all kinds of thigns as alternatives to CD's and Floppies - ie. their Zip drive. About the size of a floppy, and I think it stored around 100Megs. But it didn't become universal, so it's pretty much useless.

Neither...I use my parents computer to back up my data....to back up or store my music on would take well over 10 CDs. or a few thousand floppies. It's also quicker than any other cd or floppy.
