Photoshop/premiere question

Hey everyone, sorry if I'm in the wrong forum... but I couldn't find a specific forum for Adobe Premiere. anyhue...
ok... in photoshop 7 we have the option to overlay layer by hue, color, or whatever right...
Ok... Is there any way to OVERLAY in premiere?? it would help greatly with some effects I have in mind... as well as getting a certain color I want in a scene. (Channel mixer and those other color/contrast filters arn't cutting it for me in premiere)

I beleive that you could just take an image of whatever your color is and then place into Premeire. It should import as a few frames. You can stretch it out and make it as long as you like.
Anyway, you should then make sure that the color frames is the "visible" scene/image and then set the opacity to something lower. This should create the "overlay" effect as in PS.

Well, I appreciate the tip... but all it does is give the scene an hint of that color.
Ok... I have an Idea on how to explain it... take the image you use as an avatar... k
use it in photoshop. create new laey... fill layer with a blue.. (a grayish blue... or whatever) now, in the layer menu or setting or whatever, theres a drop down box. the blending mode. rightnow it's set on normal... set it on hue...
todda.... thats what I want in a scene.

To be honest, I dont have premeire installed right now so i cant even open ot to test anything out.
But, how long is the scene that you are wanting to a apply the effect to?
I know that you can actually export the scene as a "FLM" file and then it will open it photoshop.
**note** this file is usually VERY large!!
If you want me to explain it further, then let me know and I will do what I can.

eh...
Well... if it gives me the result I'm hoping for... then I'll do what ever... but the truth is, I don't have a deffinet place for it.
See... what I'm trying to do is get a feel for premiere. and try to figure out how to do things (effects) I might want to do/see in my videos...
then as I learn ... I'll go back through a video and do touch up work or figure a place to put it in a new video. ( I am currently working on five vids. lol... keeps me busy.)

Erm i thought there was something you could drop into the timeline over your movie (similar to the brightness / contrast adjuster thingy) that would allow you to adjust hue / saturation.

Im at uni just now though so i cant check for u but im pretty sure there is. What version of Premiere do you have? and is it an avi or lots of jpgs ur using?

Ya there is... and it's called channel mixer... but it's not giving me what I want. I know it sound like I'm being... I think the word is fineky... but this overlay thing in photoshop does EXACTLY what I'm wanting!
