This is the back-up guitarist for Rise Above. We're a local new hampshire punk rock band. We don't play stupid punk either. We play street/hardcore punk. Our influences are the following:

OK, Well first of all if you even asked that question then your not a true punk. But to answer your question these are some of the examples of "stupid punk".

what do you mean AFI was good. AFI is still amazing. I hate how people say bands sell out because they become signed to a major label or become mainstream. It's bull****, just because AFI is extremely successful and because they have a major recording company behind them doesn't mean they sold out, it just means they have a better chance of giving the fans better quality material. Old AFI is the same as new AFI except new AFI is a little more mature, but that happens with all bands when they get older.

avril lavigne is stupid punk too. well, she's more than stupid punk. and i understand that she is pop, not punk. but according to her, she see's herself as punk.

True Punk? Pfft, I've heard that crap so many times, I've started listening to Ska and other stuff, and i dont know how rancid is "stupid punk" If they were considered folk music, i would still like them.
