I hope they dont kill too much out of it though, from what I've read in the books, and from having seen the 2nd movie, theres a LOT to jam in there, like there was stuff missing from the 2nd movie that was in the 2nd book, that looks like it will be in the 3rd movie ... so I'm just worried that either too much will be left out of the 3rd movie, or else it will seem everythign is "rushed" (lack of flow between parts of the book) ... really to get everything in they would need a 5 hour long movie or so, and I doubt thats gonna happen, this isn't Ben Hur Roll Eyes. Nevertheless I look forward to seeing this!

...Then, the week of Dec. 12, sequel "Two Towers" will unspool, just a month after having preemed on DVD, leading up to a worldwide Dec. 16 daylong marathon, during which all three films will be shown back-to-back. Exhib guidelines call for a 3 p.m. showing of "Fellowship" followed by a 7 p.m. screening of "Two Towers" and then an 11 p.m. screening of "Return of the King," which will carry over into Dec. 17 -- the day of its global release...

Now that would be a good day.Grin

Annatar...HECK YEAH. I'd not heard of this previously. I'd be all over that. Sure, it's a long time to be sitting, but by golly if any trilogy could do it for me, this would be it.

Lady Firelyght...right on! You've got a long way to go to beat him, but hey, keep up the good reading! There are a lot of things out there you could be doing that wouldn't be nearly as worthwhile.

And by the way, welome to the boards! When you think of me, think "hurdling-shrubbery" or something REALLY lame like that. Grin PLANT out...

You think that's a lot...Christopher Lee (Saruman) has been reading the whole trilogy once a year every year for decades.

hm... lets see: i'm 20, he is over 70. i started with 12, 13 or 14...dunno. so my quota seems to be better Tongue

Dis, just think about it this way, the book didn't come out until he was like 30 (he was born in 1922), so now he's 81. We're starting out at ages 12-14 (I first read Fellowship when I was 14), so that gives us alot more time to catch up to him! *dances* Almost makes me wanna go read them again... even though I just got done reading them three weeks ago.

And a good thing about the movie is that even though it's REALLY long (not long enough though, imo), you can keep watching it over and over and over and over again because you find that EVERY time you watch it there's something you didn't see before. Well, that's how it is with me anyway. Gosh, I wish Tolkein was alive so I could give him a big hug...
