You can still apply it to psp, you just need to know where the options it's telling you to use are and how to use them.

While there's no tutorial to create that exact same effect in PSP (actually I was planning on creating one, but I need to finish my site first), you can try two plug-ins: Flaming Pear's Glitterato and Axion's Flare Effects (not the free version because it is very buggy). Flaming Pear's plug-in is fully functional for 30 days, and I suggest that you apply it several times (using different settings) on several layers and then messing around with the blend modes (dodge is a must in some layers).

Flaming Pear: www.flamingpear.com
Axion: www.axionfx.com (I think)

I tried converting it, and yes.. it's all wrong. My only solution at this point that doesn't require outside filtering would be to look up psp tutorials dealing with starfields, Pspug.org has one that I know of -it's part of a solar system tutorial. It won't give you the same effect, but once you get the general idea you can start playing around with lighting/lens flare technicques (which is how that last tutorial got it to a nice blue).

Yep. Unless you purchase it.

If you are still interested, I wrote a tut for PSP7 on how to create a star field using two freeware filters (Ulead Particle and MuRa's Cloud).

Although the result that I show isn't like Greg's, with a few adjustments you could easily get the same result as him (reading his tips would be really helpful).

Here's the url: http://malephika.formmailer.net/pgs/tuts/psp7/sf.html
