Unix and Win Op hosting???? whats the difference
what is the difference between Unix, linux and windows server?
I damn nearly signed up for a Unix server with that Cpanel thing from ByzHosting. I do most of my work on dreamweaver and use a win-op system.
So that would've been a mistake had I purchase a hosting domain for a Unix server when I have a win-op system instead?

No, it really doesnt matter. You can have/run all your work on a windows system and have a unix/linux host. It wont make any difference.
However, if you plan to user windows only modules such as .NET or ASP pages you should go with a windows host. Otherwise choose unix/linux. Linux tends to be cheaper because it is a free opretaing system where as windows is not.
Linux is also a lot more secure than windows.

If your not using ASP i would recommend linux although windows and linux should work either way

heh your theory is flawed...
you can run asp on linux using specialist software (i think sun sell something called chillsoft??) and php runs on windows as well...
