Adding a texture and 3D glow to text

Hi people. I'm new here. :confused:

I've been through the "Seamless Water Texture" tutorial in the Photoshop tutorial section of the Spoono site and ended up with a good result. But now I'm wondering: how do I go about creating the sort of text as in the two sample letters shown at the bottom of the page? http://www.spoono.com/tutorials/photoshop/water/

Specifically I want to know how to apply the texture I've made to my text, and how do I add the 3D glow effect? I have Eye Candy's inner bevel plug-in, but I can't ever seem to create anything as good as this...

Any help would really be appreciated.

select the picture
edit<<deffine pattren
now u can start anew pic!
wright down the text u want to have the effect!
select it!
now go to
edit<<fill
choose pattre in the list and choose your pattren!

OK, once I've created the text, how do I "select" it? Sorry, I'm actually more of a Paint Shop Pro user and I'm used to just creating a selection around the text and then clicking inside it to select the non-transparent pixels only. But how do I go about doing this in Photoshop? :confused:

If the text is on its own layer, ctrl+click the layer to select it

drews sig doesnt look too hard. looks like he applied some filters and effects on clouds... added a grid, the eye, and the text on the background
