Our school has at least one computer in every room. The computers in the non-IT rooms are there, but they are locked in cupboards... I mean, wtf?!

damn you guys are all so lucky, my old school had 486s, which were -recently- upgraded to p1 100mhz. They have a great selection of office 97 and, get this, one of them has photoshop 4!
None of them have cd rom drives, and each kid has a paper quota of 5 sheets a week.

Yea, my school sucked.

hm..stupid decisions...i dont know where to begin. to give them credit, they dont make too many techno-mistakes...except that the 'stlp', which is entirely responsible for every ounce of tech in the school, has NO idea what they're doing.

one idiot decided to open the case and jiggle around inside while it was still on. he didn't ground himself, either.

You guys should be thankful you at least have computers. My school decided to expand and build a new building.
Of course they didnt do their math right and later realized they wouldn't have enough money for computers and TVs. So now every computer lesson we have to walk 10 minutes to the main building. And those computers pretty much only have office 97.

They could at least make the CD ROMs permanently open so you have a cupholder . Anyway, my school has a Creating With Computers class. Those computers have 3dsm, PS, Premeire and other things. I applied for that class but couldnt get into it because the teacher doesnt do 5th period (he teaches pottery that period) and 5th was the only period I had available. So what I did was go down to the teacher and show him some of my work and got a Visual Arts class. That means I just go down to the lab by myself 5th period and play around with 3dsm or whatever I want. And I get class credit for it.

Our school is filled to the rim with super *** old dell optiplex 233mhz computers. No speakers, 15" monitors win 98, and they throw them out when they can't fix them, give me the damn things, i'll fix them and give them to charity or goodwill.
They did a good thing by buying new dells, for the science wing only, i don't know what the specs are but they must cheap because they have integrated video.
I'd really like them to have a photoshop class....I think i may speak to them about it. They use the old painter and teach you to filter rape stolen photos....I don't think my school has made any bad choices so far, but when they do....they'll hear from me.
