scroll bar and dynamic text box from exturnal text file

Hello all,

Here's what I am trying to do. I'm making an all flash site for a friends band and I am making all the text load into dynamic text boxes from external .txt files. This is no problem but I want the dynamic text box to be able to scroll... I can get the scroll bar to work when the text is typed into the box in flash; but it doesn't work when the text is beeing loaded from the file! I have read through all the instructions I could find on the topic with no luck so I turn to you all for a bit of help.

so basicly

1. I can load the external text into the dynamic box
2. I can make a dynamic box scroll when typing directly in flash
3. But I cant make a dynamic text box scroll when loading an external text file which is key to making this project successful.

no but thanks anyway. like i said i can do that already, but try doing that tut and load text to the box onstead of typing it in flash; magicly the scroller stops working.

Sorry I missed what you meant. I'll upload an example I modified from a Kirupa tutorial.

Extract the files and the Data.txt file has to be in the same folder as the swf.

Thanks so much, that is exactly what i was looking for, for some reason the AS that you used works perfectly, while the AS that i used from the MM help files doesn't (well it does load it but the scroller stops working) i did get another fla from a different forum that works too but the scroller is all custom and its way more involved than what i need it for (although it is pretty cool) Thanks for following up on the thread and coming through for me =)
