Graphics Card Problem

I have a new pc and an old one. I recently upgraded the graphics card on my new pc which meant I had a spare one. As my old pc has a spare AGP I thought I might as well put the card in there. I uninstalled the drivers for the old card (onboard ATi card), and then placed the new card in the AGP Slot. After I installed the drivers using the disk provided, I rebooted the machine as instructed. Unfortunately the pc is now locked in the boot sequence. It boots up and just as it starts to load windows it reboots again. It does this non-stop. I can boot into Safe Mode and can boot without the graphics card in which would indicate it's is the graphics card with the problem however I know this to be a working graphics card. On the odd time I can get the computer to boot up, it says in the device manager that "Windows failed to initiate the device and so will never attempt this again" or words to that effect. I'm not sure what to do, I have included some tech spec below :-

Graphics Card - Hercules 3d Prophet II ? 32MB AGP x2.0 compatible ? min req. Pentium II, 16MB RAM, Windows 95+, 10MB HDD Space

Old PC ? Pentium Celeron 400Mhz, 128MB RAM, Windows 98, Enough HDD Space

you'll have to disable it in bios first ( onboard card)

its nothing to do with windows, or drivers. Its simply a hardware level problem which means have some fun with the good old bios Smile

Check a few things, basically what i would do first is reset bios to 'load fail safe settings', then if that works, load optimal and go from there. However if none work, then you may wanto set your agp to 1x for a start, turn off shadow buffers i think in there somewhere, set your mem to like 4mb or something, just the real crap settings basically until you get it to work. Oh and ofcourse do what was said above by 'reload' before you do all this stuff. As that may well work right off. Same goes for sound cards and onboard sound. However you said 'you rebooted after installing drivers from a disk'? so it did work initially? in that case, well somehow you might have to get new graphics card bios image, which could be tricky, havnt had to do that before.
