Boolean Modeling In Bryce

It don't seem like it wants to work for me..

This is how I understand it, correct me if i'm wrong...

I have a sphere, i create a box and place it over the top half of the sphere...change the box to negative and then group it with the sphere.. Now I change the group to posotive, thus resulting in the top half of the sphere being chopped off where the box was...but this isn't happening... The box just remains there...

Try this.

1. Make the sphere positive (check cuz it may be in neutral)

2. Make the box negative.

3. Put the box over the top half of the sphere and group them.

And that should be it.

yeah, you have to make the sphere and box negative and positive before you group them. atleast thats what i think...

Hmmm booleans in bryce seem interesting. I like it better in 3ds Max. Just click on the boolean object when Object A selected, select what operation you wanna perform (union, subtract, etc) and then click on the "select operand B" button and then click on object B. Batta bing, batta boom. Tongue

well, booleans in 3dsmax dont always give good results, some of them leave your mesh with hideous flaws. i believe theres a plugin to help but... im really starting to get off topic.

Yah A4D, the flaws usually piss me off. And that plugin would be great do you have a link? As for getting off topic, it doesnt really matter because caged's problem was fixed. Tongue

Ramble on Guys Grin I haven't tried Booleans in 3ds Max, I had an entire college course on it just recently and we never got into it. Got part two of that course coming up so maybe we'll hit on it a little bit.
