Spoono Text Tutorial

The tutorial for creating fire text is vastly incomplete. I followed the instructions EXACTLY as written, and when I was completed with it, my text looked NOTHING like the example given. Please help me!!

welcome to TF

Firstly a link to the tut would be helpful. Spoono's tuts are unlikely to be 'vastly incomplete'. Rather, your inexperience/ impatience is more likely to be the cause of your problems with the tut.

Please give specific details at which point(s) of the tut your having problems and then ppl might be able to help. Also screenshots of your work can also help pin down probs.

thanks and look forward to attempting to help you

Thanks fo rthe link tp guistuff..Also for the mildly insulting reply, but anyway..........
The tutorial goes fin up to a point. It doesn't look EXACTLY the same up to the middle of the tutorial because I chose anothre font style.
The problems crop up starting with step 5 (Indexed color, colpr table, and RGb color instrustions). Their isn't an adequate explanation on how to give your text the red color. Now, maybe I'm inexeperienced (at spoono), but I saw no instance of where to choose the red color, the only color reference is to "black body", of which there is no selection for "black body" in the dialogue box they are referring to. As to the filling in of black text, I am sure that is my fault as I chose a different font than that which was used. If anyone knows the font style, please let me know

If you are following the tutorial correctly, you should see this dialouge box (see attachment). Just select "Black Body" and hit OK and you will have the red colour.

i uhh didnt take a look at the tutorial, but you always have the option of pressing ctrl + u to bring up the hue/saturation changer. just make sure to check mark the box "colorize" and then play around with the sliders..

Yes......had a friend let me know where the the black body is located (in the drop-down menu)..other wise I wouldn't have know where it was unless I turned over every stone in photoshop...lol
spoono might consider ammending the tutorial to add that. After that, the text looked GREAT.
Thx fer the help

Yeah that is one thing i HATE about tutorials, when the writer of the tutorial does not put enough detail in what you need to do, for example it would say something like, CLick on the reallhardtofind tab, and im like where the f*ck is that tab? they could show a picture or something of where it is. and when they do show the picture its just of the tab its self not the whole photoshop window or where ever the tab maybe. i hope people understand.

thats just how i feel. not ungreatful, just anoyed.
