Asking Questions the Smart Way

This a problem in every tutorial- and tech support-based forum on the web. A barrage of questions that look like this:

"n0thing works help mwe!1!!1!"

It's frustrating, but there's hope!

Roll Eyes

Just thought I should let everyone know about this:

http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

If you weren't aware already.

I got bored after scrolling through the 20 pages of revisions and the table contents which looks like it's a doctoral thesis or something. The sad truth is, if you can't ask proper questions, or ask lazy questions that can be answered by google, then you are certainly NOT going to spend 3 hours of time to read that text. I am really surprised that something like this document even exists, because I would never have imagined someone working over almost 2 years to create a text about asking questions. Is the author trying to set the record for the most pathetic text ever written? The point is that reading it will not cure the stupidity/lazyness that afflicts so many individuals, so it is useless and a complete waste of life time for both the author who obviously has no life at all, and the rare case of a reader who also has no life and will take the time to read it.

/me b*tch slaps matthew arron for saying "werd", and using never the less as one word.

alot of people ask some stupid questions; and i think it's our job to not answer them. you shouldn't need a guide on how to write like an educated human. common sense people, that's all i ask. we've all been through grammar school.

--Edit--
what do you know, the filter didn't censor b*tch.

Ulllgghhh...

Pardon me for:

1. having a sense of humor

2. spelling "nevertheless" correctly

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=nevertheless

3. posting a link that some might appreciate.

I'm not trying to indoctrinate here... and while I'm being petty: I find it ironic that you assume we've all been through "grammar school," but you don't know how to spell 'nevertheless' or 'a lot.' Grin

Our job is to help people. Don't forget the name of this forum. I simply posted a link to a site that some might appreciate. I'm not talking about poor spelling or common sense; I'm talking about asking questions in an intelligent manner. Thus, the name of this thread.

I'm apologize if I've created a monster.
