3d Studio Max - VERY PISSED!!!
Ok I just recently purchased max 5, what a dent it put in my companies wallet, but anyway, I just saw that they came out with version 6.... now im very annoyed......I really dont feel like spending a fortune for an upgrade either, but anyway, I mean how much of a significant difference would it make to get version 6 as opposed to version 5?

Depends on your purposes most likely you dont need it. I stuck with max 4 till about 2 months ago. For me and my purposes max 5 didnt make all that much of a difference, just little interface changes.

yeah I am stuck with max 4, which is fine with me because i haven't used the program to its full capability yet anyways... but i won't be upgrading or changing until i go to school in san fran... I am thinking that I will be one of the few students that have their own copy of the program on their personal computer. I am for the most part happy with max 4 right now though.

You should be fine sticking with 5. Its been out for a while and has been proven a solid program.
Our company is still using 5, and will be for a while. Its hard to justifiy getting 6 when 5 works fine.

Meatballs is yet another way of modeling. I've used meatball based modeler's before and they are quite nice if you're wanting to create organic shapes.
Basically, you have a base object (usually a sphere) and in order to change its shape, you add another sphere. When they get close to each other, they deform. The closer they are, the more they merge into one.
Think of it as virtual magnetic play-dough....

My friend, if you are smart you will refrain from posting something else like that here.
