shared/reseller?

I was looking at web host packages. I had no idea what shared or reseller packages were. What are they? What's the difference between the two. Help is appreciated and encouraged.Smile

you could say a reseller is a type of shared hosting as your sharing the server with others but i will try not to confuse you and follow what i think you mean.

Shared Hosting

This is your average hosting account, ability to host 1 domain with X amount of space and X amount of bandwidth along with all the other features you get. Its what you need for a normal site in most cases.

Reseller Hosting

Similar to shared hosting in the sense that you are sharing the server, although with resellers you usually purchase a larger amount of space and bandwidth allowing you to host multiple sites, you can "become a host" and sell on shared hosting (above) or just host multiple sites of your own or for friends family, infact you can host any site aslong as you have the domain linking to your server Smile

Hope this helps you out
Chris
