What Does Illustrator Have That Photoshop 6 or Flash Doesn't?
Okay, I know that PS is raster graphics but it does have vector capabilites with the pen tool and pre-made shapes.
Flash it seems can do a little bit more with vector but I'm not sure what other than it seems easier to manipulate shapes.
So, what can Illustrator do that Flash can't? Is it a program that is only needed by people who work in print or is it a necessity for a web designer too?

About illustrator in comparisson with PS...first of illustrator is good for very linear illustrations whereas PS is much much more organic. That's the underlying difference behind raster and vector.
Hmm as for flash...if you want motion and interactivity, that's the program. It's good to start off in Illustrator first for hot graphics, then put 'em into flash for some movement. Flash is also awesome in that it's got scripting involve. You can do amazing stuff with ActionScripts in flash. If you understand it, there's no limit, especially with the scripts that involve high level mathematical equations...man you can really get a hot site going.
What illustrator could give you is excellent graphics...what flash could give you is the ability to manipulate those images and make it look ALIVE. That's all i guess...
