i've been making alot of wallpapers lately, but when i make them, i usually just make em for myself, and post them on my forum, but, how do you force photoshop to size it down to all desktop sizes?

well for me, when i try resizing the image, it automatically chooses a pixel size i don't want. how do you force it to change to what you want?

you have to uncheck the contrain proportions button, then you can independently change the width and height

see, now all resolutions are proportional.when you goto resize and image, photoshop want you to keep the proportions because otherwise, the image comes out distorted. see, if you make a wall in 1600x1200 with a perfect square in the middle, if you scale it to 1280x1024 (my favorite res), the square will now be a rectangle.

is it better to make the wallpapers starting at 1600x1200 and then sizing them down?

1600*1200
1280*1024
1280*960
1192*864
1024*768
800*600
640*480

Yea it is better to size them down.
