Aged look?

Hey all, I need some help...I'm making a sword and right now its like looking brand-new right off the shelf, and I need it to look old, warn, rusted...ect. It needs to look like its been sitting there for 100 years without moving..does anyone know any tutorials or filters I can do to make it look like this? Thanks

try a layer mask with the polygon laso toll to cut out some of the blade to make it look worn.....
:EDIT:
you could try using color burn too ussually steel that old had high concentrations of carbon and got darker as it aged Smile

Another good idea would be to try searching on Google.com. A lot of people don't think of it as a tutorial search engine, but it works.

try adding some noise to it. Maybe use a brush or 2 that have texture to them. Add some rust or chips.
