Scam

I have just received this scam email. I have just read that the person who sends it knows your phone number and will send you letters approving of the account transfer. I have received phone calls recently for my dad. They called about 2 times a day and they sound really nice.

The Email:

I just emailed him and told him I was filing a lawsuit Tongue

Figures... The email is made by a few Nigerian conartists. They have made over 5 billion dollars US on this.

Giving away your account details they remove all funds in said account.

Just ignore them and they will go away...

Search on google and you will find some very funny transcripts from people winding them up Grin

Thats how it works, they say they need to transfer loads of money to a non-nigerian bank account, then come to america/wherever to withdraw it and split it 50:50 or something silly. People will say ooh ok sounds like easy money. The nigerians will ask you for account details and power of attorney on the said account to deposit the money, once they have this, they will basically take out every penny they can, including drawing down on overdraft funds etc etc...

Mind you if you fall for this scam you deserve to be ripped off..

yeah but doesn't mean you have to give them your account... it says we'd like you to start a new account or something of that effect.

I saw a tv show on these types of scams. Some scary crap too. People got held hostages and stuff. Sometimes they were murdered.
