Leaf effect?

Does anyone know of any good tutorials on how to create vines, or ivy using photoshop? ive been searching for days it seems like, with no luck at all.

I would start off with creating some nice twisting paths using the pen tool.

Then I would stroke the paths using various brushes which will give you the depth (the same way as you would make a 'wire')

Then add some noise for texture.

Finally use the smudge tool to draw out pieces haphazardly which adds detail etc.

You could also create a small custom brush for leaves, and use the jitter settings to add small leaves etc

if I get time I will have a go and see what I can work out, pretty busy at the mo

Ive seen this done before by other members, one that comes to mind is Vogonpoet. Although I havnt seen him in a while, his pic was cool. Should PM him.
