Gmax?

I heard its like a 3D Studio Max like thing made by discreet. Its free. Can someone tell me about this?
I have Maya Personal Learning Edition FYI, and those are some big watermarks...........

gmax is basically 3dsm without rendering capabilities and less options and such

It allows you to make models that can be used in games so good for the modding community. Basically it is a marketing ploy. They give it away free people use it like it and then when they want to do more they buy the full program

Same thing as Micro$oft and its cheap student software

3dmax is better, but i use softimage which rocks both.
