General Question.

I have Macromedia Freehand 10 on my computer, but I've only mingled with it a few times. I fail to see it's true purpose, and it's strengths in being used properly. I primarily use Adobe Photoshop for Graphics, and something compelled me to download Freehand. Anyway, in what ways is it more useful than Photoshop? I want to get better with it, but I haven't even found a direction in which to follow yet. Any comments, or suggestions would be appreciated.

" You don't need to be a genius to do some things. What is smart? I think everybody has that genius seed in them for something. All genius is to me is somebody who has latched on to something and taken it as far out as they could take it. Ask Einstein his phone number, he couldn't tell you, he had to look it up. That's not where he's at. If you were to ask him about Led Zeppelin, he probably wouldn't have any ****ing idea what you were talking about. So being a genius doesn't have anything to do with being a completely social functioning being completely understanding of everything. It has more to do with finding something, a voice in yourself, and taking it as far as you can take it. Hopefully, it takes you down a road where you understand you don't need to hurt people to get to wherever it is you're looking for. " --Maynard James Keenan.

re:

ok. macromedia freehand is the equivalent of adobe illustrator..its is different from photoshop. photoshop is a bitmap program.
freehand and illustrator is a vector graphics program...
i presume that u understand what is the difference of vector and bitmap.

as a student of design, i mostly learn to use these two programs side by side..i chose to use freehand with photoshop instead of illustrator with photoshop because freehand loads much faster with my comp (i got an old but still a fighter comp Smile )

you cant say which is more useful than which..they co-exist..
freehand/illustrator is capable of something photoshop cant and vice versa...
i suggest u rtfm more on a vector graphics program..it will definitely heighten your graphics ability even better.

it certainly did to me cause i started out with photoshop for years before i realise the beauty of vector.
