3d Studio Max Questions

Hey guys I just got 3d studio max a few days ago and I'm trynig to learn it. Here are questions I have.

1) How do you export a .max file as a .jpg or .gif? Or anyway I can bring it into photoshop.

2) How can I move an object so it's NOT on the X or Y axis

wel.. i can anwser the 1 question:

just go to redering in the bar above, and chose render..
then he'll open a window, and chose beneat, wich viewport you want ( use perspective ), and then push render.. he'll great a window with the image, and then push the floppy icon left above.. and save it

what do you mean NOT on the X, Y and Z axis...thats all you can move it on...

He didnt mention the Z axis, that is probably what he needs to move it in. But I cant help as I use lightwave. In there u use the left mouse button and move the mouse left/right or up/down and the right mouse button for the 3rd axis - maybe that will work Grin

Your probably clicking in the middle of the X Y Z icon, if you move the mouse over towards where it has the letters or along the line, eg. Z and then click, it will only move along the Z axis, where as if you press it in the middle of the icon then it will normally move it on the X and Y, depending on what you have it set to. Hope that helps.
