Advice
Many things have changed since I signed up for Tutorialforums. I signed up a few months ago and TF was the best forum in the design/art community. Especially Site Review forum, which was a place where I could have got inspired, share a comment or two with somebody who needs it, and get some help from the experts.
The forum (Site Review) has greatly changed ever since. Now, there are about 10 new sites appearing each day. Most are web design and art companies of people that can?t even make a good site for them-selves. The titles of those treads are always the same ?please help? or ?rate this?, while those people have no intensions of hearing nothing but good-job. I?m not happy with what am I seeing and instead of wasting my time, I want to do something for a change.
I want to offer an advice to many webmasters who post in this forum. At first, please don?t post rips. Don?t think that taking someone?s idea and put it together nicely doesn?t make it a rip. Before posting a site, let your mama see it first. Make sure she doesn?t start crying. Only then post it for us to see. When you make the site don?t put two or three cells together and an image containing nothing but text and then start claiming it?s a ?simple? design. Don?t start a new thread every little change in the site and don?t start treads for every step you going to make the design. Post the site when it?s complete and has been running for a few days. If you do make changes put it in the same tread and make sure we can tell the difference. When you start the tread please don?t write a two page essay and then forget to post the url. Always double check the url and make your descriptions short and to the point. I know hosting is a problem for many webmasters, but make sure it doesn?t take me an hour using ADSL to load it, because I won?t wait. Also, if you have pop-up ads make sure they have an end. Another very important thing is naming your thread. Just put the name of the site in it. I get confused if every tread in the forum is ?please help? or ?rate this?. When you ask for reviews don?t expect everyone liking the site. People have the right to talk bad of your site (unless they are crazy motherfos) without getting dogged back. Don?t start showing different things you made to prove your better. We are grading not the artist, but the particular work. If you post here be ready to change some stuff in the site. If you won?t change anything then there is no point for us trying to help you.
This concludes my huge essay on the forum. I hope some people will actually read it and the admits would refer and comment about it. I hope I did offer some people an advice.

Well put
Every word in your essay is right on the mark. I too haven't been posting as much as I used to for those exact reasons.

I totally agree.
We need to learn something from other forums.
Be more like them - then this is will be a better place.

man, I havent been here in ages - for exactly those reasons. its just full of newbies (of course, we all start somewhere, but do all newbies have to come to TF??) who post every bit of the progression of their site. As SP said, we dont need to see the little diagonal line thats 3 pixels long turn into a straight line 2 pixels long and 3 wide. And we also dont need to see peoples "design firms" when they themselves cannot design for thier life. Everyone starts somewhere, and Im not putting anyone down, but at least have some sort of talent before you start a firm where you charge several hundred dollars for a layout, when you yourself cant create something worthwhile. And another thing I hate about this forum, is that every damn thread is about some idiots sig - "rate my sig!", "look at my new sig", "what do you think of my sig?". A SIG IS NOT A PIECE OF ART, so do not litter this forum with crap no one cares about. And please, can we not have all these "My first image ever created with photoshop on my first 5 minutes using the program" threads. honestly, nobody wants to see that. why not develop some skill and then show off what youve learned. Im not saying everyone has to be Jens Karlsson or Eric Vardon, but at least know the program well enough and have something at least one person would be interested in seeing. Now I really know why I havent posted in this forum for several months, now I know why other forums are so much better....
Try looking at The Root42 (down at the moment) and Perfect Burn to see how a design forum should really be. In fact, scratch The Root, only look at Perfect Burn - that is THE picture of the perfect forum, a place where there are no sig threads (tf), there is no one who thinks theyre so much better than everyone else (the root), and at long last humour is accepted. But please, I beg of you, dont go destroy PB with the crap that has destroyed Tutorial Forums and The Root42, treat it as your best friend:)

I Disagree
Everyone has to start somewhere, and since this forum is alrdy craptastic y not use it? I mean really y would u turn it around if all these other forums are better? People have to learn if their sites are good or bad and, well thats what we are good for. So give it a break and go put ur energy into something else, not just complaining when u don't have to. If u guys feel so strongly against this, leave. This single post isn't gonna stop anything.
Bottom line: Stop B!itching, take it somewhere else.
