video card vs. motherboard/Win2000 problems

I just upgraded my motherboard to a Soyo KT333 Dragon Lite with 512 MB DDR memory, and I have an ATI Radeon 7500 video card with 64 MB onboard memory. Every time I try to install my video card, when I restart it tries to load Windows 2000 but restarts itself in midprocess. I've tried using Windows Update, tried installing the Multi-Display edition, tried using the drivers provided on the motherboard's CD, tried downloading the driver from ATI, etc. but to no avail. And neither ATI nor Soyo have a bug fix/patch for this problem. Right now I put in my old ATI RagePro card and it's running fine, but I'd like my better, faster video card to work. It worked fine before I upgraded my motherboard and went from Me to 2000. Any suggestions?

Avius...

That SOYO needs a ALOT of power.. and so does the RADEON... whats the power rating on ya PSU?? Have you tried a more beefy one ???

Ive got a 450w in my kit.. cause even the 350 enermax I had couldnt deliver enough power for 4x JB drives & a GeForce 4 setup! .. random lockups/resets sound like a power issue..

Worth a try!.. let me know Grin

well, i'm having the quite same problem with my new geforce2 mx 400 vga card (it has no brand name). they toldme it works for xp, well i tried installing the driver (the latestdriver from the nvidia website) and it doesn't work. it wont boot. it just gets stuck in the xp loading screen.

the only way for me to use the card was to disable its driver in safe-mode and then it would work. although without the proper driver i wouldn't be ableto use its 3d features (the reason bought it for) and stuck with a normal video card like my old rivatnt2.

man i also need serius help. i should hav bought the branded one.

just sharing....
