the lines seem to not join up!!
I have also tried to do the trace option using illustrator, however when i click on an object i want to trace. and then delete the object itself. The remaining line left is broken. So how do i do it so that the flow of the line is exact as the object and also not broken?
i have attached my result - which is not what i wanted??
thanks

Not sure about Illustrator, but you should be able to mess with the settings in the trace tool and get it a lot better than that.
What I ended up doing (and what I suspect others are doing) is simply tracing around each peice of the image by hand, using the freeform or pencil tool.
Then adding color. Mine looks real rough but it also took about 10 minutes. If you wanted, you could spend a lot of time and make it look really nice.

That honestly looks like something you can do easily in even MsPaint (the first image posted). Just minus facial features and major detailing.

well it seems as if this effect is not as easy as it first seems!
i have had various attempts and have not come close to a passable attempt - whilst the trace bitmap feature in flash is the closest in essence, it does not accuratley create the effect desired
c'mon you vector gurus tell me the secret!
thx all 4 trying
