How do I make this effect?

My friend made this image and hes not letting me know where he got the tutorial for the background....heh. Anyone know?

http://www.shadowness.com has a tutorial called eBoom or something...

yeah....its eboom....but not the finished tutorial...looks like he stopped before he messed with the levels.

oh boy....lol. Ya eBoom..I believe. I have that tut in my site tho the cube is in Photoshop.

That effect is one of the most overused tutorial in PS history ....IMO

1. New image
2. pres D
3. filter -> render -> clouds
4. filter -> pixelate -> mosaic (big img 20, small img 10)
5. filter -> blur -> radial blur 20 best
6. filter -> brush strokes -> accented edges (settings r fine)
7. filter -> styalise -> find edges
8. invert (cntrl + i)
9. add sum hue/saturisation (cntrl + u)
10. check colorise
11. **** it up and ur done

Uhm, just meh, some para's, a colt .45, electric text, lil grid and that green used to be chrystals... Nah I need to learn more.

I SEE THAT THE SITE I POSTED ABOVE IS SUFFERING I LITTLE DIFFICULTIES

SO DO THIS INSTEAD:------>>

Be sure that your pallette is correct (press D if not)

Make a new layer and run "Filter: Render: Clouds"

Now run "Filters: Pixelate: Mosiac"

Depending on what size your document is, select the size of the "squares"

The next filter to run is "Filters: Blur: Radial Blur"

I've included the settings I used and for the most part is the standard for any size.

After the radial blur, now comes the Emboss ("Filters: Stylize: Emboss")

Next, execute an Accented Edges (Filters: Brush Strokes: Accented Edges)

After the Accented Edges, do a "Find Edges" (Filters: Stylize: Find Edges) and Invert it (crtl-i)

We're almost there! Now do a Hue/Saturation (crtl-u) and pick a good color

Now just repeat a "Radial Blur" with the same settings

and you're done!
