Flash Layouts

Hello. I heard that Flash was pretty difficult to learn. So my question is if you could provide me with a few good links on tutorials or such on creating a layout in Flash.

My second question is what would be the benefits of creating a site in Flash vs. creating one in HTML? Thx!

ok

::classic: You proly want to goto either http://www.flashkit.com or http://www.flashplanet.com . As oppose to the use the HTML flash is a low bandwidth animation programm. It has endless possiblitys for animations games and interactivity. I personally love but the 2 have to work together. You can really use flash without HTML and HTML is rather dull without some animations. Hope that helped ya...

I would also recommend...

...the tutorials at Webmonkey ( www.webmonkey.com )have a good tutorial aimed at beginners.

Personally I really like flash because of the interactivety. It loads fast, and well, I think the developers have just scratched the surface as to what this program can do!

[ Both ]

Wink Well to tell the truth I think that the two of them have to go together. Here are my reasons:

1. Not everyone has flash. . .
2. Not everyone knows how to write Html
3. Some people dont have 400 Friggin' bucks to buy Flash.
4. Html is free Smile
5. Viewing pleasure depends on bandwidth. . .to much flash equals overload on computer and they frickin' lock up like a deer in headlights Shocked
6. Flash has gotta be the most pimped out program for multimedia purposes. If you got time and money Smile
7. Both take time to learn, but the basics of HTML are easier, however Flash has built in Tutorials.

Well thats just my opinion, hope it helps ::classic:

layouts are easy

layouts are easyier to make then anything else.... well, of corse you have to learn basic effects and buttons and linking scenes, but you can make an ok layout with no actionscript..

/\ this is a layout i was working on before i realized it was a cheap rip of 2advanced about 6 months ago.. I started it by making the layout with psp7, and then imported the images to flash, each little cirlce button is an individual button... if i want to finish this layout, i would make the effects for the button, and make new scenes for each subsite.... It sounds confusing but ive done it without tutorials, go to www.designsbymark.com and learn how to do basic effects first.....

flash is by far the easiest program i have learned... the best part of flash is the speed that you can make quality content for any sight..... you need html to view flash... but flash will make the html to view your flash in for you.... the only complicated parts to flash are learning the hierchy, of graphics, movie clips and buttons..... and action script.... and for action script it is extremely easy unless you plan on getting into games, and some effects require more then your average onmouse event release go to and play......

DKKnight....please remeber that easiness/hardness are relative terms...you may find flash to be extremely simple or the complete opposite...Either way, mastery is a function of time and effort....

in regards to your links...I like www.flashkit.com ; www.webmonkey and www.were-here.com ... dam...i llike a lot of sites...to many to name...start here...oh Colin Moock's book "Actionscript the difinitive guide" is the bomb...put out by O'Reily press (I think this is the 100th time I've plugged this book)...and no I don't work for O'Reily Tongue

hopethishelped
holla back
