Hey it dont Suck.. at lest hes trying and wants to do Better
No its not the greatest but everyone starts somewhere.. i remember when i first learnt HTML i didnt even have an internet Connection.. i got a really good tut from a CD that thought me everything about HTML and frames and what not my very first site had 4 frames and it Sucked like big time.. to tell you the truth it was So bad that now when i look back on it i shudder and get this horried feeling in the pit of my stumic (hahaha)

Anywho

I wouldnt go to a frelance graphics designer mate i would do it me self all you need to do is get some good books about web design specifically how to make a web site thats easy to navigate around and stuff like that then get a Photoshop book.. a good one that teaches you HOW to use photoshop its self not how to use Styles and while your out there maybe pick up a book about HTML if you dont already know it..

Then read them.. ALL of them and use the ideas they give you and play around with them.. then when you have finished reading the books take a piece of paper and write down all the ideas you have If you can draw even better Draw a design layout Out that way you will be able to refer back to it when you start wondering What the hell you where doo (i do that a lot i start a design then i forget where i wanted to go with it and wonder what the hell was i doing) now make sure you start simple and then work up dont throw your self into a Huge project just yet becouse if you do you will get frustrated when you cant get the design exactly how you want it..

Anywho i have rambled on enough and i prolly have no idea what im saying.. So i'll leave you too it!

Have fun Brian

I see you're kind of a noobie as I once were (or still are??? naaaah Smile)

So my site will be up in a few days and if you mail then I can work somehting out. My goal is a public of yougsters who don't have much money and want to start something on the internet or for other purposes. I know it's a pain in the *** to see all those neat gfx designers who ask plenty of money (YEAH GUYS YOU'RE ALL GREADY!!!!!! Smile) I want to make gfx for little prices or maybe for nothing if it's not much work and the site or project deserves it.

Check back later or mail me at woq_omen666@yahoo.com

Well gee sorry, when some says to look at the websites, I don't take much time looking at the actual content or credit whatever you wanna' call it, for long. I just take a quick peek. You could at least say you were a beginner. I know of 3 guys in my class who have spent like a full year using photoshop, and they still sux0rz.

So sorry man, didn't know you were newbie to the design world. If I can do anything to set things equal, just tell me k?

So what ya say, man, forgive and forget, Brian?? Sad Eek ::bandit:: ::chinese:

I have no idea what you're saying either. Try inserting some punctuation into your sentences once in awhile. You'll find it works wonders. Smile

A few tips:

get Photoshop (you can get it everywhere, yes everywhere! Wink)
draw your site on a piece of paper whatever you like or comes in mind.
make it suit the goal of your site.
draw everything in PS.
get it into the code.
you got yourself a site.

Most important: surf the web and get some ideas, don't steal, but get ideas. Books about PS suck and not many can learn you somehting about webdesign you really need. Most books suck.
It's your own imagination and ideas that's gonna do the trick.

Liquid Pixel

Smile I don't want to argue, I guess I came off alittle harsh as well, I'm sure you had all of good intentions. Yes your right I'm a noobie and I'll learn and I guess I need to learn to take advice from more advanced peeps better than I did. I'm sorry and let's forgive and forget. Shocked I do how ever have a question or 2. When you see a rocking sight such as let's use this site for an example: http://www.floodgear.com/ <--- they have since changed it since friday but it'll still work as an example, now do I create the "background" in photoshop and slice up the images and put it together like a puzzle in Dreamweaver or do I just set the back ground in dreamweaver and use layers for my text? This is where I get confused, because if I set it as the background for the page, I can't put tables and cells on top of it because it's allready in a table, and we all know you can't put tables on tables, atleast I don't think you can??? Any help anyone could give me would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Again sorry Liquid for my remarkes and thx for the inspiration to go on and learn more. Smile

PEACE

For a site like Floodgear, you need to make the entire site in PS, then go to ImageReady to slice it up and make an HTML page for you (IR makes rollovers easier to do they tell me). Then go to DW and finish it there. Here's a tute for you:
