Photoshop or Imageready?

Well?
I have heard that Imageready is Photoshop and more, and I understand that what is has more is slices and making websites etc. But I noticed that my version of PShop 5.5 has more filters (like Noise). I have IReady 2.0

The Question is, other than Slices, is there any reason to use Imageready? I've become used to PShop and I only have used IReady to open a psd with the guides already set and just slice it.

Imageready can also create animations and rollovers, and generate the html required for your sliced graphics (though I am not sure of the quality of that html/javascript it generates- never used it myself).

I think (not sure) that you can slice and save for web from PS and it will do the html too, but it will not do any animations or rollovers.

Generally PS and IR are designed to be used side by side. Unless your into making animations out of your PS graphics I personally do not see the need for IR but thats a personal opinion

photoshop is for basic editing
imageready is sort of wat helps photoshop to be a little like macromedia fireworks.
its for the web and stuff
and animation
photoshop is for the real image editing and stuff

yeah.. imageready doesnt have all the things photoshop has.. example-retouching tools

just use photoshop if youre gonna do normal image making

i just use imageready to make animated gifs... i use fireworks for the slicing and stuff... also to do drop down menus.. things like that.

Go with Photoshop if u are making abstract graphics and other similar images use imageready for animations purposes.
