i cant relaly describe this effect but im currious of who knows how to do this

what i want to know is ya know on the side? therse that kinda one color block that looks like some filters ahve been applyed to it? and how its motion blured etc. well does anyone know if there is a name of that effect and if there is a specific way to do it?

Well, Im assuming its done by taking an image, or a bunch of shapes and motion blurring several times, as well as gaussia blur. Then theres probably a bit of colouring effects added in....

using the marquee tool draw a bunch of boxes, or even better, draw a THICK line with the 'base' color you wanna use (in this case purple) Go to filter>Pixelate>Mosiac
mess around, then mostion blur and guassin, maybe unsharpen a bit too.. thats what i can think of,

Its obviously just what you get when you apply MOTION BLUR to square and rectangular shapes. Also there is some very small white text which has been motion blurred too. Simple - you dont need a tutorial

aeh, that's just some blend modes, shapes and highlights mixed with a bit knowledge and intuition, as well as artistic talent and a slight sense of colors.

Yeah i tried motion blur, didnt really come out sharp enough and the sharpen filter didnt really do anything to help...Hey Derek? ITS YOUR SITE, WHAT DO YA THINK? lol
